December 16, 2021: US based Tamil diaspora groups have jointly sent a letter to US Secretary of State Blinken urging him to help hold a Referendum for a permanent political solution to end the ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka. It also urged to refer Sri Lanka to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for atrocity crimes committed against the Tamil people by the Sri Lankan State.
